Dr Lachlan Westwood

Osteopath

About Lachlan:

A boy from the bush, former sheep farmer a self-proclaimed home chef and a vinyl enthusiast. Not exactly a bundle of words you would associate together but that is what makes Lach himself. Not to mention he is also a great Osteopath.


Born in Daylesford but raised in Jerilderie NSW, Lachlan started his health care journey when a myotherapist cured a dodgy low back. From then on, he was sold that allied health was his future career.

 

Lachlan graduated from RMIT Bundoora in 2019 and immediately started as an osteopath in the Mallee. During his tenure as an osteopath Lachlan has travelled far and wide treating, chatting, swapping stories all to better both himself and his patients.

 

As an early Osteopath, Lachlan always had the desire to give his time and effort to the rural community and rural health landscape. He uses a structural approach to treatment and management while evaluating posture, lifestyle and work factors, gait analysis and how these factors can contribute to a patient’s injury or challenge.


Over the past 12 months Lachlan has also given his time to Osteopathy Australia as part of the inaugural Early Career Advisory Group, collaborating and sharing ideas with other osteopaths from around Australia to help guide and prepare new osteopaths coming out from their university course and into practise.

 

Lachlan applies a vast array of skills and techniques to his patient centred sessions allowing him to break down complex and difficult conditions, both chronic and acute. With a sports trainer background, Lachlan also is proficient in handling any sports injury from head to toe.

 

Somewhat of a football tragic, Lachlan spends his days rocking out to vinyl, giving his best shot at being ‘fit’ with a monthly run and sharing a laugh with anyone keen to take on his quick-fire humour.
